Lisbon Airport History
Lisbon airport was opened on October 15th 1942 during the World War II. It was used by Germans as well as British airlines and acted as hub for smuggling people into and out of Europe.
Quickly developing after the war Lisbon Airport soon became a well connected airport to all of Europe.
Since 2007 the airport was constantly enhanced and plans for a new airport were scrapped as it was decided that the location of the airport was the best possible one.
