Humberside Airport History

After previously being used as a Royal Air Force base and known as RAF Kirmington during World War II, the site was abandoned after the war in 1945 and was not opened again until 1974 when it was renamed Kirmington Airport.

The name of the airport was again changed to Humberside Airport, following the local area renaming to Humberside.

Humberside airport has five resident flying clubs and also offersfixed wing and rotary training.
