Barbados Bridgetown Grantley Adams International Airport History

The airport was originally known as Seawell Airport which at the time was just a grass runway. After paving the runway, the first terminal was built in 1949. An expansion project was launched in 2000 to upgrade the runways and build a new terminal building. This allowed the airport to cater for the increasing passenger numbers.
