History

Antalya Airport is a relatively modern airport, with the construction of its first international terminal starting in 1996. This was completed in April 1998 and in 1999 Fraport AG and Bayindir Holding signed a joint venture agreement to run the new terminal.

A new Terminal 2 was added recently which is operated by Celebi. The airport caters for both scheduled as well as chartered traffic, and its location close to the resorts on the Mediterranean has made it a very popular destination.

The airport is located 13km north east of Antalya city centre. This journey should take approximately 25 minutes by car. A car transfer can be arranged to take you directly from the aircraft steps to the city centre.
