History
Dallas Executive Airport was previously named Red Bird Airport.
After years of underinvestment the city of Dallas took over the lease in 1999 and marketed it as a business airport.
The name was changed from Red Bird to Dallas Executive and since then it has managed to attract increasing private jet and general aviation traffic.
This is partly due to its appealing location and recent investment in facilities and ongoing runway expansion.
