PRIVATEFLY’S NEW ANNUAL CHARTER TRENDS REPORT REFLECTS A PERIOD OF ‘CHANGE AND GROWTH’ FOR THE COMPANY
Jan 28, 2020
New York City was top destination in 2019, with the most-flown aircraft the Nextant 400XTi, Citation XLS and Legacy 600
On-demand private charter provider PrivateFly, a Directional Aviation company, has released its latest Private Jet Charter Trends report, which looks back over the whole of 2019. The findings include a shift towards clients choosing larger aircraft; details of the company’s fastest ever ‘go now’ take-off; and a destination mix that reflects its growth in the US – with New York City now at the very top.
PrivateFly said that the report reflected a period of ‘change and growth’ for the company, in which it had flown more people, to more places, than ever before.
These are some of the findings from the 2019 report:
- New York City was PrivateFly’s top global destination, followed by London and then Nice Cote d’Azur - which overtook Paris for the first time.
- While small jets still accounted for almost half of activity, the company grew its large cabin activity, with Long Range & Super Midsize accounting for 26% of flights.
- The company’s fixed route ‘City Pairs’ pricing and access to group-owned aircraft saw the Nextant 400XTi become its most-chartered aircraft in 2019, and the Legacy 600 third in the list.
- PrivateFly also recorded its fastest ever 'go now' flight - just 16 minutes from enquiry to take-off for a client looking to fly urgently from New York to Nashville. The client was already at the airport and PrivateFly was able to identity an aircraft and crew, and arrange the flight in record time.
PrivateFly’s CEO Adam Twidell comments: “This yearly edition of our trends report highlights both what changed at PrivateFly in the last twelve months, and what has stayed the same.
“Our aircraft mix for example, shows the added value we can now give clients who choose our group-operated aircraft. Although of course, as the popularity of the Citation XLS, Phenom 300 and others underlines, we are still giving access to a wider choice in the on-demand charter market.
“Recording our fastest-ever take-off time in an incredible 16 minutes also shows that responsiveness and innovation remain at the heart of our offering, as we continue to grow. Our team really cares about delivering an unbeatable level of service in the charter segment.
“And while New York City as our top destination demonstrates our US growth, we’ve continued to expand in Europe too, growing our teams and our sales on both sides of the Atlantic.”
